Fantastical Lands

Whatever your feelings are about the latest series of Game of Thrones, there is one undeniable fact - you cannot argue against the beauty of the set design, spectacular costumes and variety of colours brought to life through Sky Atlantic’s flagship series.

However, I have to say, I have, and always will, be an avid Lord of the Rings fan.

I think we all can’t help but see that George R. R. Martin has arguably taken some apt inspiration from Tolkien (but that can only be a good thing).

Nothing will ever beat the elegant beauty of Rivendell, the hypnotic eeriness of Lothlorien, or the gates of Argonath boasting the imposing, towering statues of Isildur and Anárion.

Either way, whatever your preference, this week’s round up of home inspiration comes from being inspired by all things elven, dragonish, magnificent and miniscule.

Enjoy!

The entrance to this residence in White Pine Canyon, Salt Lake City transports us straight into another world. The hand carved wood and elven inscription is beautiful.

Or what about this dragon themed spiral staircase?

Or how about something smaller and less grand? This beautiful hobbit-inspired home is a true delight:

Swedish barbeque huts are up there on our list of must have garden additions. To look at a further selection, do visit Arctic Cabins for inspiration:

What could be nicer than snuggling up, summer or winter in one of these cosy huts - complete with moveable grill, no smoke, lovely deer skins and customised carved item... just wonderful!
